Perhaps we got lucky, but a room upgrade when we arrived was a geat start. The Elm room itself was of generous size and came with a nice comfy king sized bed. The bathroom only had a shower, but that was fine for our needs. We found the quietness of the place, the large lounges with fires, and the splendid gardens to be very much what we were looking for. The breakfast buffet (included in the tariff) was very good. Perhaps more hearty country than fancy city, but we liked it. We ate in the restaurant the first evening and in the lounge (limited menu) the next. Service was a little slow in the restaurant, but no complaints about the quality of the food - it was good and the wine selection was reasonably priced.

Love the cozy rooms with fire places to relax; bottles of hand cream in main areas; spa water station; view (obviously!); people were lovely- everyone, amazing customer service, special mention to a lovely housekeeping member of staff who stopped to speak with me on Saturday morning as I remarked on what a lovely stay we had; very relaxing feel to the venue; lovely room, good energy (I work in this area, psychic- space clearing, energy healing etc).

Emma

Our receptionist was lovely, our room was in a fantastic location and it was beautiful (we were in Room 1), however this was a bit noisy at 2am with people arriving from events - it was still a stunning location for a room. Breakfast was great, the restaurant was a little pricey for the quality of the food - although the sourdough was lovely. We played billiards which was in a nice room and the wine list was great,

Sarah

Very picturesque. Our room was very near the restaurant so it was very convenient and surprisingly quiet. Our second door opened onto the verandah with a beautiful view of the gardens and the golf course in the distance. The gardens are immaculately well kept. The bed was very comfortable and I love the Appelles products in the bathroom. The wardrobe and dressing area was large with a lovely big mirror.

Suzanne

Had little of the breakfast but it appeared well presented, sufficient and current. That is, nothing was cold or appeared to have been sitting around for a long time. The range was more or less standard in that most of the normal presentations were there, properly presented.
